Using the Manual Project Creator

1. The following project information displays on the tab:

   • Project Name
   • Project Description
   • Project Code
   • Project Instance ID
   • Balance Type
   • Account Period End
   • Account Period Type
   • Complex
   • Output Media
   • Multi-Language Behavior
   • Default Language
   • Fund(s)

   • The status of calculations for the “primary” portfolio statement template designated for the account period and a given fund displays in the “Fund(s)” grid.

     • If no primary portfolio statement template is designated for a fund, the status displays as “Not Calculated”.
     • If calculations for the primary portfolio statement are not complete, the status displays as “Not Calculated”.
     • If no holdings data have been loaded/imported/manually entered for the fund and account period, the status displays as “No Balance Set”.

   • For projects that have a financial workbook assigned via the “Settings” tab of the “Project Templates” page, the status of calculations for the workbook displays in the “Fund(s)” grid.

     • If calculations for the workbook are not complete, the status displays as “Not Calculated”.
     • If no balance set exists for the fund and account period, the status displays as “No Balance Set”.

2. Click the “Unlink All Components” button at lower-left of the tab to disconnect all unlinkable components in all chapters and sections of the project from the libraries that normally feed their display.

   • You must be assigned the “Unlink All Components” right to click the button. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.

   • Only components of the type(s) corresponding to your assigned specific “Unlink …” right(s) in the “Project Component Unlinking” user right group will be unlinked (e.g., If you only have the “Unlink Financial Tables” right assigned, only financial statements in the project [and in any chapters or sections therein] will be unlinked).

   Once components have been unlinked, they must be linked one-by-one, using the “Link Component” button associated with each. To link any given component, you must be assigned the appropriate component-specific “Link …” right in the “Project Component Linking” user right group.

   • Unlinkable components include portfolio statements, financial statements, tabular data, text snippets of type “Link To Text Library” and charts (except those of type “External Source Data”).
   • If one or more unlinkable components in the project (and components in any chapters or sections therein) has not been previewed, or if output has not been generated for the project, those components will not be unlinked; you must preview each component in the project, or generate output for the entire project prior to unlinking all its components.
   • Data for unlinked components is cached (i.e., not re-calculated upon preview or output generation) and can be manually edited within the “Project” page.
   • If all components contained in all chapters and sections of the project are already unlinked, clicking the button will have no effect.

   • Chapter Name
   • Chapter Code
   • Production Team
   • Chapter Behavior
   • Financial Workbook Name (for chapters defined as “All Funds - Combined”, “All Funds - Single” or “All Funds - Repeat”)
   • Fund Name (for chapters defined as “All Funds - Repeat”)
   • Publishing Template

2. Click the “Unlink Components” button at lower-left of the tab to disconnect all unlinkable components in the chapter (and components in any sections therein) from the libraries that normally feed their display.

   • You must be assigned the “Unlink All Components” right to click the button. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.

   • Only components of the type(s) corresponding to your assigned specific “Unlink …” right(s) in the “Project Component Unlinking” user right group will be unlinked (e.g., If you only have the “Unlink Financial Tables” right assigned, only financial statements in the chapter [and in any sections therein] will be unlinked.

   Once components have been unlinked, they must be linked one-by-one, using the “Link Component” button associated with each. To link any given component, you must be assigned the appropriate component-specific “Link …” right in the “Project Component Linking” user right group.

   • Unlinkable components include portfolio statements, financial statements, tabular data, text snippets of type “Link To Text Library” and charts (except those of type “External Source Data”).
   • If one or more unlinkable components in the chapter (and components in any sections therein) has not been previewed, or if output has not been generated for the chapter, those components will not be unlinked; you must preview each component in the chapter, or generate output for the chapter (or the entire project) prior to unlinking all its components.
   • Data for unlinked components is cached (i.e., not re-calculated upon preview or output generation) and can be manually edited within the “Project” page.
   • If no components in the chapter are linkable/unlinkable (e.g., images, text snippets, etc.), clicking the button will have no effect.

1. The following section information displays on the tab:

   • Section Name
   • Section Code
   • Section Behavior
   • Account Period
   • Financial Workbook Name (for sections defined as “All Funds - Combined”, “All Funds - Single” or “All Funds - Repeat”)
   • Fund Name (for sections defined as “All Funds - Repeat”)

2. Click the “Unlink Components” button at lower-left of the tab to disconnect all unlinkable components in the section from the libraries that normally feed their display.

   • You must be assigned the “Unlink All Components” right to click the button. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.

   • Only components of the type(s) corresponding to your assigned specific “Unlink …” right(s) in the “Project Component Unlinking” user right group will be unlinked (e.g., If you only have the “Unlink Financial Tables” right assigned, only financial statements in the section will be unlinked.

   • If one or more unlinkable components in the section has not been previewed, or if output has not been generated for the section, those components will not be unlinked; you must preview each component in the section, or generate output for the section (or the containing chapter or entire project) prior to unlinking all its components.
   • Data for unlinked components is cached (i.e., not re-calculated upon preview or output generation) and can be manually edited within the “Project” page.
   • If no components in the section are linkable/unlinkable (e.g., images, text snippets, etc.), clicking the button will have no effect.

1. The following information displays on the tab:

   • Text Snippet Name
   • Text Snippet Option (i.e., “Link Text To Library”, “Copy From Text Library” or “Ad Hoc”)
2. Click the “Text Snippet Usage Report” link at upper-right of the tab to view the that report, with the “Complex”, “Text Library Name” and “Account Period” search criteria fields pre-populated accordingly.
3. For text snippets of type “Link Text To Library”, click the “Edit Snippet in Library” link at upper-right of the tab to open the linked snippet on the “Text Libraries” page.

4. For text snippets of type “Copy From Text Library” or “Ad Hoc”, edit snippet content directly in the editing pane of the “Project” page.

   Only users that belong to the production team assigned to the selected component (or chapter, if the assignment is “<Use Chapter Assignment>”) can edit the text for the component.

5. For text snippets of type “Link Text To Library”, click the “Unlink Component” button at lower-left of the tab to disconnect the snippet from its source.

   When a text snippet is in an unlinked state it can be edited within the project, without any of the changes affecting the associated snippet in the text library.

   You must be assigned the “Unlink Text Snippets” user right to click the “Unlink Component” button for this component type. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.

   You can reestablish the direct relationship of an unlinked snippet in a project to its counterpart in the text library at any time by clicking the “Link Component” button.

   • When you take this action, the content of the snippet in the text library will overwrite any and all manual edits that may have been made to the snippet in the project.
   • You must be assigned the “Link Text Snippets” user right to click the “Link Component” button for this component type. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.
6. Click the “Description” link at upper-right of the tab to view the “Description” value specified for the snippet via the “Text Libraries” page.

1. The following information displays on the tab:

   • Portfolio Statement
   • Template (click the template name link to open the template on the “Portfolio Statement Templates” page)
2. Click the “Portfolio Statement Template Usage Report” link at upper-right of the tab to open the “Portfolio Statement Template Usage Report” page.
3. Click the “Output Settings” link at upper-right of the tab to view/edit output settings for the statement on the “Portfolio Statement Template Output Settings” page.

4. Review the contents of the statement in the grid on the tab.

   1. Double-click any security record in the preview pane to view/edit it in the “Holdings” tab grid of the “Fund Holdings” page.

   • The grid displays values associated with the specified balance type for the account period specified in the “Fund Selection” bar.

     • If the statement points to the “Primary Portfolio Statement” for its calculated values, values are pulled for the same balance type as that specified.
     • The specified balance type does not impact calculation sheets; when referencing values in a calculation sheet item from the portfolio statement, the adjusted value type values are pulled.
   • All categories forming part of a given category exception will display in preview and output according to the output settings specified for that category exception.

   • A legend must be mapped to display in statement preview and output.

     • Abbreviations will be displayed in a legend regardless of whether their symbol or text is mapped in one cell or two.
     • Abbreviations will be suppressed from a legend when the abbreviation symbol or text is mapped and is identified as an exclusion.
     • If footnotes and abbreviations are included in a single legend (i.e., an “intermingled legend”), the footnotes and abbreviations will display in the specified “Auto Symbol Order” for the statement template’s legend (either “By Occurrence in Statement” or “Alphabetical by Footnote[/Abbreviation] Text”).

5. Click the “Unlink Component” button at lower-left of the tab to disconnect the statement from its source, and then click the “Edit” button to edit the statement values.

   When a statement is in an unlinked state it can be edited within the project, without any of the changes affecting the associated balance set or application libraries.

   You must be assigned the “Unlink Portfolio Tables” user right to click the “Unlink Component” button for this component type. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.

   You can reestablish the direct relationship of an unlinked statement in a project to its associated database libraries at any time by clicking the “Link Component” button.

   • When you take this action, the component’s data values are re-calculated from libraries, and will overwrite any and all manual edits that may have been made to the statement in the project.
   • You must be assigned the “Link Portfolio Tables” user right to click the “Link Component” button for this component type. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.

6. Click the “Unlink Footnote Text” button at lower-left of the tab when a footnote-type item is selected in the preview pane to disconnect that footnote’s text from its source, and then click the “Edit” button to edit the text.

   When footnote text is in an unlinked state it can be edited within the project, without any of the changes affecting the associated footnote in the footnote library.

   You must be assigned the “Unlink Footnote Text - Portfolio Statements” user right to click the “Unlink Footnote Text” button for this component type. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.

   You can reestablish the direct relationship of unlinked footnote text in a project to its counterpart in the footnote library at any time by clicking the “Link Footnote Text” button.

   • When you take this action, the content of the footnote in the footnote library will overwrite any and all manual edits that may have been made to the footnote in the project.
   • You must be assigned the “Link Footnote Text - Portfolio Statements” user right to click the “Link Footnote Text” button for this component type. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.

7. Click the “Refresh” button at lower-right of the tab to refresh statement preview content to reflect any changes made to either the statement’s associated template or output settings.

   Refreshing the statement content in this manner causes any and all manual adjustments to footing to be reset/cleared.

1. You can see a preview of the image associated with the component on the tab.

   • If no image has been uploaded to the database in association with the selected component for the specified account period, nothing will be displayed in the preview pane.

   • If an image has been uploaded to the database in association with the selected component for the specified account period, but it cannot be displayed in the preview pane due to its file type, the text “Image Preview Unavailable” is displayed in the preview pane.

     • The following file types are currently available for preview:

       • JPG
       • JPEG
       • PNG

1. The following information displays on the tab:

   • Tabular Data (name of the table)
   • Template (click the template name link to open the template on the “Tabular Data Templates” page)
2. Click the “Tabular Data Template Usage Report” link at upper-right of the tab to open the “Tabular Data Template Usage Report” page.
3. Click the “Output Settings” link at upper-right of the tab to view/edit output settings for the table on the “Tabular Data Templates Output Settings” page.
4. Review the layout and contents of the table in the grid on the tab.

5. Click the “Unlink Component” button at lower-left of the tab to disconnect the table from its source, and then click the “Edit” button to edit the data values.

   When a tabular data table is in an unlinked state it can be edited within the project, without any of the changes affecting the formerly associated source template.

   You must be assigned the “Unlink Tabular Data Tables” user right to click the “Unlink Component” button for this component type. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.

   You can reestablish the direct relationship of an unlinked tabular data table in a project to its associated source template at any time by clicking the “Link Component” button.

   • When you take this action, the table’s data values are drawn from the associated source template, and will overwrite any and all manual edits that may have been made to the table in the project.
   • You must be assigned the “Link Tabular Data Tables” user right to click the “Link Component” button for this component type. The button is disabled if you are not assigned the right.
6. Click the “Refresh” button at lower-right of the tab to refresh tabular data preview content to reflect any changes made to either the table’s associated template or output settings.

1. Statement (topmost tree view node)

   1. The following project information displays on the tab:

      • Project Name
      • Balance Type
2. Chapter

   1. The following chapter information displays on the tab:

      • Chapter Name
      • Chapter Code
      • Chapter Behavior
      • Financial Workbook Name (for chapters defined as “All Funds - Combined”, “All Funds - Single” or “All Funds - Repeat”)
      • Fund Name (for chapters defined as “All Funds - Repeat”)
      • Publishing Template
      • ArcPublishing output capability status and information for the chapter (reflects the state of the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box and information for the chapter on the “Chapter Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)
3. Section

   1. The following section information displays on the tab:

      • Section Name
      • Section Code
      • Section Behavior
      • Account Period
      • Financial Workbook Name (for sections defined as “All Funds - Combined”, “All Funds - Single” or “All Funds - Repeat”)
      • Fund Name (for sections defined as “All Funds - Repeat”)
      • Page break before section (reflects the state of the “Page break before section” check box on the “Section Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)
      • ArcPublishing output information for the section (if the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box is selected on the “Chapter Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)
4. Text Snippet

   1. The following information displays on the tab:

      • Item Name (text snippet name)
      • Output Style Type
      • Text Snippet Option (i.e., “Link Text To Library”, “Copy From Text Library” or “Ad Hoc”); this value can be edited, but doing so “disconnects” the project from its template
      • Text Snippet Library (only if “Text Snippet Option” is specified as “Link Text To Library”or “Copy From Text Library”); this value can be edited, but doing so “disconnects” the project from its template
      • Text Snippet (only if “Text Snippet Option” is specified as “Link Text To Library”or “Copy From Text Library”); this value can be edited, but doing so “disconnects” the project from its template
      • Language (only if “Multi-Language Behavior” is specified as “One Output Containing Multiple Languages”)
      • ArcPublishing output information for the item (if the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box is selected on the “Chapter Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)
5. Portfolio Statement

   1. The following information displays on the tab:

      • Item Name (portfolio statement name)
      • Output Style Type
      • Portfolio Statement (template name); this value can be edited, but doing so “disconnects” the project from its template
      • Language (only if “Multi-Language Behavior” is specified as “One Output Containing Multiple Languages”)
      • ArcPublishing output information for the item (if the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box is selected on the “Chapter Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)
6. Financial Statement

   1. The following information displays on the tab:

      • Item Name (financial statement name)
      • Output Style Type
      • Financial Statement (template name); this value can be edited, but doing so “disconnects” the project from its template
      • Language (only if “Multi-Language Behavior” is specified as “One Output Containing Multiple Languages”)
      • Funds on left
      • Funds on right
      • Selected fund(s)
      • ArcPublishing output information for the item (if the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box is selected on the “Chapter Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)
7. Image

   1. The following information displays on the tab:

      • Item Name (image name)
      • Output Style Type
      • Image Library; this value can be edited, but doing so “disconnects” the project from its template
      • Image Library Item; this value can be edited, but doing so “disconnects” the project from its template
      • ArcPublishing output information for the item (if the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box is selected on the “Chapter Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)
8. Chart

   1. The following information displays on the tab:

      • Item Name (chart name)
      • Output Style Type
      • Chart Template; this value can be edited, but doing so “disconnects” the project from its template
      • ArcPublishing output information for the item (if the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box is selected on the “Chapter Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)
9. Tabular Data

   1. The following information displays on the tab:

      • Item Name (table name)
      • Output Style Type
      • Tabular Data (template name); this value can be edited, but doing so “disconnects” the project from its template
      • ArcPublishing output information for the item (if the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box is selected on the “Chapter Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)
10. External Document

    1. The following information displays on the tab:

       • Item Name (external document name)
       • Table of Contents Description
       • ArcPublishing output information for the item (if the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box is selected on the “Chapter Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)
11. Shared Legend

    1. The following information displays on the tab:

       • Item Name (legend name)
       • Output Style Type
       • Shared Legend Template; this value can be edited, but doing so “disconnects” the project from its template
       • Associated Statements
       • ArcPublishing output information for the item (if the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box is selected on the “Chapter Detail” sub-tab of the “Project Templates” page)

1. Select the “Blank Template” option (default) to create a new, blank template.

2. Select the “Copy Existing Template” option to create a template whose properties and settings match those of an existing template in the database.

   1. Specify the complex associated with the template upon which the new project template will be based via the “Source Complex” drop-down list.
   2. Specify the existing template on which the new project template will be based via the “Source Template” drop-down list.
   3. Specify the complex with which the new project template will be associated via the “Target Complex” drop-down list.

3. Select the “Import” option to create a template whose properties and settings match those of an existing template that has been exported to a file of XML format.

   1. Select your import file using the “Browse” button at right of the “Source File” field.
   2. Specify the complex with which the new project template will be associated via the “Target Complex” drop-down list.

   For information on how to export a template, see the “Exporting a project template” task.

1. Click the “Complex” drop-down list to specify the complex with which the new project template will be associated.

   Once the project template has been saved, the specified complex cannot be changed.

2. Enter a “Template Name” and “Description” for the new project template, either in the cells of the new row at the left of the page, or in the fields of the “Detail” pane at the right.

1. Edit the newly-copied template’s “Template Name” and “Description” as appropriate.

1. Edit the newly-imported template’s “Template Name” and “Description” as appropriate.

1. Drag the structure template you wish to utilize for the project template from the “Available Document Structure Templates” pane on the right to the “Monthly” field on the left.

   

2. Specify the financial workbook(s) to associate with the project template from the “Available Financial Workbooks” pane on the right to the field on the left.

   

3. Drag the desired language(s) you wish to associate with the project template from the “Available Languages” pane on the right to the field on the left.

   1. For templates for which more than one language will be used, specify the output behavior by selecting “Use multi-language content from libraries” or “Use translated content from import file” (when separate documents will be output for each language), or “One output containing multiple languages”.

      This setting has no effect for templates using only one language.

4. Drag the desired structure template(s) you wish to utilize for the project template from the “Available Document Structure Templates” pane on the right to the field(s) on the left.

   The number and labels of fields on the left will vary, based on the cycle(s) selected on the “Reporting” tab.

5. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

1. Funds in the current complex display in the “Available Funds” pane on the right. Drag the desired fund(s) to the “Funds using this template” pane on the left.

   

   Project templates that will generate PDF, Excel or Word output for the purpose of Web posting, only one (1) fund can be assigned in the project template.

2. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

1. Specify general settings for the various items used in the project (for the reporting cycle selected in the corresponding drop-down list) via the “Chapter Detail”, “Section Detail” or “Item Detail” sub-tab, as appropriate.

   1. Chapters

      1. Specify the “Publishing Template” to be used for output.

         

         • If one of the publishing templates defined for the style sheet associated with the current project template has been marked as the default template (via the “Publishing Templates” tab of the “Style Sheets” page), it will automatically be selected for all chapters in the template.
         • If the publishing template specified for a given chapter has its “Has Table of Contents” check box selected, that chapter will represent a Table of Contents in project output.

      2. Also indicate whether the contents of the chapter to be squeezed in project output, according to the value specified in the associated spinner control.

         The method(s) applied to squeeze the content (e.g., spacing, point sizing, etc.) will be based on the settings within the document processing template associated with the specified spinner value (i.e., “1”, “2” or “3”).

      3. Select the “Enable Chapter for Sending” check box and provide the associated information to designate the chapter as one whose contents can be sent to the ArcPublishing product via the “Send Chapter Files to ArcPublishing” right-click context menu item on the “Project” page.

      The “Chapters” structure tree will “repeat” chapters, according to the respective chapter/fund “Behavior” settings defined in the project template’s associated document structure template. The fund name is displayed in parentheses next to chapters with the “All Funds - Repeat” behavior specified.

   2. Sections

      1. Specify the “Publishing Template” to be used for output.

         • If one of the publishing templates defined for the style sheet associated with the current project template has been marked as the default template (via the “Publishing Templates” tab of the “Style Sheets” page), it will automatically be selected for all sections in the template.
         • If the publishing template specified for a given section has its “Has Table of Contents” check box selected, that section will represent a Table of Contents in project output.
      2. Select the “Page break before section” check box to cause a page break to be inserted in project output before starting the section.

      The “Chapters” structure tree will “repeat” sections, according to the respective section/fund “Behavior” settings defined in the project template’s associated document structure template. The fund name is displayed in parentheses next to sections with the “All Funds - Repeat” behavior specified.

   3. Text

      1. Define the origin of the text to be included via the “Text Snippet Option” drop-down list.

         

         Available text options are as follows:

         • “Ad Hoc”: Allows you to create the text item’s content within the project (i.e., via the “Components” tab of the “Project” page) once the project is generated.
         • “Link To Text Library”: Allows you to specify a snippet contained in a text library. The content of the text item will always reflect that which is contained in the library.
         • “Copy From Text Library”: Allows you to specify a snippet contained in a text library as a “starting point” for the content of the text item in the project. The content of the text snippet will initially reflect that which is contained in the library. The snippet represents a standalone instance, and any changes will be contained in the project and not reflected in the library.
      2. If you specified the “Ad Hoc” selection, you may also select the “Ad Hoc snippet rollforward” check box to cause the snippet text specified in a given project to automatically roll forward to each successive reporting period.

      3. If you specified either the “Link To Text Library” or “Copy From Text Library” selection, also specify the “Text Snippet Library” in which the content resides.

         

      4. If you specified either the “Link To Text Library” or “Copy From Text Library” selection, choose the “Text Snippet” from among those listed in the selected library.

         

         • You can also assign text snippets to any item of type “Text” at any time via the “Assignment” sub-tab.
         • You can use the “Filter by” option narrow the list of available items to those in the specified text library that are flagged with the current “Text Type”. This option is disabled when no “Text Type” value has been specified for the project item in the associated structure template.
         • The folder in which the selected text snippet is contained (if any) is displayed at right of the “Folder” label on the tab.
         • The description text of the selected text snippet is displayed at right of the “Description” label on the tab.
         • You can view the content of the selected text snippet that is associated with a specified account period and language by clicking the “Preview Snippet Content” link at the bottom of the tab.

      You can replicate the “Suppression” and/or “Assignment” settings of a selected text snippet in one or more other project templates of the same structure by clicking the “Push component settings to other project templates” button at lower-right of the tree view.

   4. Images

      1. Specify the “Image Library” in which the image resides.

         

      2. Choose the “Image Library Item” from among those listed in the selected library.

         

         You can use the “Filter by” option narrow the list of available items to those in the specified image library that are flagged with the current “Output Style Type”. This option is disabled when no “Output Style Type” value has been specified for the project item in the associated structure template.

   5. Portfolio Statements

      1. Choose the “Portfolio Statement” template to associate with the selected item.

         

         • A built-in, non-customizable statement template that meets the disclosure requirements for Form N-MFP may be used by selecting “[Standard N-MFP” Portfolio Template].
         • Any user-defined statement template may selected from the list, instead, if desired.
         • You can also assign statement templates to any item of type “Portfolio” at any time via the “Assignment” sub-tab.
         • You can use the “Filter by” option narrow the list of available items to those that are flagged with the current “Portfolio Type”. This option is disabled when no “Portfolio Type” value has been specified for the project item in the associated structure template.
   6. Financial Statements

      1. Choose the “Financial Statement” template to associate with the selected item.

         

         • You can also assign statement templates to any item of type “Financial” at any time via the “Assignment” sub-tab.
         • You can use the “Filter by” option narrow the list of available items to those that are flagged with the current “Financial Type”. This option is disabled when no “Financial Type” value has been specified for the project item in the associated structure template.

      2. For statements in chapters/sections whose fund behavior is set to “All Funds - Single” via the underlying document structure template, designate the fund(s) to be included using the options in the “Funds to Display” section.

         1. Select the “All funds” option (default selection for newly-added statements) to include all funds designated for the project template on the “Funds” tab.

         2. Choose the “Selected fund(s)” option to specify some subset of funds to be included for the statement.

            1. Click the “Edit” link at right of the “Funds to Display” section heading to set the funds to display.

               The “Edit Funds to Display” dialogue displays.

               

               1. Select the check box corresponding to the fund(s) that you wish to display for the statement.

                  You can use the “Select all” or “Clear all” links to quickly select/clear the check boxes.

               2. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

      3. Specify spread or stack settings for the statement.

         1. Standard-orientation templates

            1. Click the “Spread/Stack Settings” tab.

               

               This tab is only enabled when the behavior of the chapter/section in the document structure template is set to “No Repeat”, “All Funds - Single” or “All Funds - Repeat”.

            2. Choose the “Fund”, “Class” or “Column count” option button to indicate whether data will be break by fund, class or the specified column count value in project output.

               • The “Fund” option is disabled when the behavior of the chapter/section in the document structure template is set to “No Repeat” or “All Funds - Repeat”, making “Class” the default (and only available) selection in that case.
               • The “Class” option is disabled when the behavior of the chapter/section in the document structure template is set to “All Funds - Single”.

               1. If the “Column count” option button is selected, designate the number of columns the table will display on the page after the first column, via the associated spinner control (this applies to all columns after the first, whether repeating or not).

                  The minimum possible value of the spinner is “1” (negative values are not allowed); the maximum possible value is “50”.

            3. Choose either the “Spread” or “Stack” option button to indicate whether data will display as a spread or stacked in project output.

               • The “Spread” option is disabled when the behavior of the chapter/section in the document structure template is set to “No Repeat”, making “Stack” the default (and only available) selection in that case.
               • The “Stack” option is disabled when the “Column count” table breaking option is selected, making “Spread” the default (and only available) selection in that case.

            4. If either the “Fund” or “Class” option button is selected, specify more granular spread/stack settings using the associated controls on the tab.

               1. Use the slider controls near the top of the tab to set the number of funds/classes that display on left pages and right pages of the spread, respectively.

                  • This setting determines how many funds/classes (not how many columns) should be sent to the rendering engine by left/right page. During output generation, Arc Suite will apply this setting and create as many pages as needed to output all columns of data.
                  • When the “Fund” option is selected, available funds and their order are based on the “Funds to Display” settings specified for the financial statement on the “Item Detail” tab.
                  • When the “Class” option is selected, available classes and their order are based on the “Associated Class(es)” specified on the “Classes” sub-tab of the “Financial Workbook Templates” page.
                  • The last page does not display a slider bar. The last page is effectively an “overflow” page, on which any funds/classes that do not fit within the specifications of the other pages will be placed.
                  • For new project templates, both slider bars will be set to “0” by default. This setting will cause all funds/classes to be displayed on the left of the “page” control, and to be printed on one page.
                  • The left page display can contain a maximum of 20 funds/classes, and the right page display can contain a maximum of 20 funds/classes, for a total of a 40-fund/class spread.

               2. Select the “Set individual page spread settings” check box to control the number of funds/classes that display on each page of each spread with the slider controls at the top of the tab (as opposed to the controls affecting all left- and right-facing pages of all spreads).

                  With the check box selected, changing the slider setting on any given page does not affect any other page on the current or any other spread.

                  1. If desired, select the “Last column page break” check box to cause a new spread to be created in statement preview/output after the last page on which statement spreads are displayed.

                     • This check box is only enabled when the “Set individual page spread settings” check box is selected, and when the “Spread” option button is selected.

                     • A given column’s “Spread Properties” setting (specified on the “Format Column” dialogue via the “Financial Statement Template Output Settings” page) determines whether or not it displays on the new page.

                       • Columns set as “All pages in all spreads” or “Last page in last spread” will display on the page.
                       • If the new page is left facing, columns set as “Left-facing page in each spread” will display on the page.
                       • If the new page is right facing, columns set as “Right-facing page in each spread” will display on the page.
                     • All columns in repeat groups are ignored (i.e., repeat group settings are not applied).

                  2. Use the “Number of pages” spinner control to dictate the number of pages the set of spreads will occupy.

                     • This spinner control is only enabled when the “Set individual page spread settings” check box is selected.
                     • The minimum possible value of the spinner is “0” (negative values are not allowed).
                     • The maximum possible value of the spinner is “100”.
                     • If one or more funds are added to the project template via the “Funds” tab, the funds are added to the last page of the spread set.
                     • If one or more pages are added by means of specifying a spinner value higher than the number of pages occupied by the project template’s funds, the page(s) will remain and be output as blank pages, except when the “Stack” option button is selected.
                     • If one or more pages are removed by means of specifying a spinner value lower than the number of pages occupied by the project template’s funds, the fund(s) from the removed page(s) will be added to the last remaining page.

               3. Select the “Align rows” check box if you want the rows in opposing pages to be aligned vertically in statement output.

                  This check box is disabled when the “Stack” option button is selected.

            5. Use the “Value-based Caption Behavior” drop-down list to specify the range of data to be examined before returning line item captions that are based on numeric values.

               1. When the “Spread” option button is selected, available selections are as follows:

                  1. “All pages” (default selection) - ArcReporting will look to all funds/periods on all spreads before returning the caption value.
                  2. “Per page” - ArcReporting will look only to the funds/periods on the current page of the spread before returning the caption value.
                  3. “Per Left/Right set” - ArcReporting will look only to the funds/periods on the current left/right page spread before returning the caption value.

               2. When the “Stack” option button is selected, available selections are as follows:

                  1. “Per stack” (default selection) - ArcReporting will look only to the funds/periods on the current stack before returning the caption value.
               3. If the spread/stack feature is not enabled for the table, captioning is done across the entire financial statement template for the line item (i.e., each column that is output).

            6. Use the “Zero Suppression Behavior” drop-down list to designate suppression behavior for statement line items that have a value of zero (“0”), as determined on the “Financial Statement Template Output Settings” page.

               1. When the “Spread” option button is selected, available selections are as follows:

                  1. “Per Left/Right set” (default selection) - ArcReporting will look at each left/right set (assuming there is more than one) and apply zero suppression settings to each individual set. For example, if a row (e.g., “Cash”) has a balance on the first page, but not on the third or fourth page, this setting would suppress the row on the second spread.
                  2. “Per page” - ArcReporting will look at each individual page and apply zero suppression settings to each individual page. When utilizing this option, the output should display the row descriptions on every page. Otherwise, the numbers on the right page may not align with the descriptions on the left page.
                  3. “All pages” - ArcReporting will look at all the columns across all spreads and apply zero suppression settings across them all. For example, if a row (e.g., “Cash”) has a balance on the first page, but not on the third or fourth page, this setting would not suppress the row on the second spread.

               2. When the “Stack” option button is selected, available selections are as follows:

                  1. “Per stack” (default selection) - ArcReporting will look at each left/right set (assuming there is more than one) and apply zero suppression settings to each individual set. For example, if a row (e.g., “Cash”) has a balance on the first page, but not on the third or fourth page, this setting would suppress the row on the second spread.

            7. Specify the location of the statement footnote legend via the “Footnote Legend Placement for Spread/Stack Output” drop-down list.

               1. If you specify a legend location of “All pages (spread specific)”, you may also opt to split statement footnotes evenly between the left and right pages in output by selecting the “Split footnotes evenly” check box.

                  If an odd number of footnote records exist, the left count displays the additional footnote on the left page (e.g., if total number of footnote records is 9, 5 footnotes print on the left and 4 print on the right).

                  1. If you do not select the “Split footnotes evenly” check box, you can instead use the “Number of footnotes on left page” spinner control to manually specify how many footnotes display on the left page in output; the remaining footnote(s) will be placed on the right page.
         2. Pivoted-orientation templates

            1. Click the “Spread Settings” tab.

               

               This tab is only enabled when the behavior of the chapter/section in the document structure template is set to “No Repeat”, “All Funds - Single” or “All Funds - Repeat”.

            2. Select the “Enable spread settings for pivoted financial statement” check box and populate the associated spinner control to specify the number of columns to display on left pages of each spread; the remaining columns will display on right pages.

               The minimum possible value of the spinner is “1” (negative values are not allowed); the maximum possible value is “50”.

   7. Charts

      1. Choose the “Chart Template” to associate with the selected item.

         If you add a “Chart” item () to a chapter or section, Arc Suite automatically creates a chart from the data you provide for the associated chart template. Arc Suite returns a JPG preview of the chart on the “Project” page. An EPS image of the chart is also generated and is inserted into project output. Arc Suite supports previewing chart data for portfolio statements, financial statements and tabular data.

      2. If multi-language functionality is enabled for the template, specify the “Language” with which the chart data is associated.
   8. Tabular Data

      1. Choose the “Tabular Data Definition” to associate with the selected item.

         

         • You can also assign tabular data templates to any item of type “Table” at any time via the “Assignment” sub-tab.
         • You can use the “Filter by” option narrow the list of available items to those that are flagged with the current “Table Type”. This option is disabled when no “Table Type” value has been specified for the project item in the associated structure template.
   9. External Documents

      1. If multi-language functionality is enabled for the template, specify the “Language” with which the document is associated.
   10. Shared Legends

       1. Choose the “Shared Legend Template” to associate with the selected item.

       2. Click the “Edit” link at right of the “Associated Statements” section header to specify one or more portfolio or financial statements whose items will populate the shared legend.

          Available statements include only those of the same statement type as the specified “Shared Legend Template” (i.e., “Portfolio” or “Financial”), and those that are not already associated with any other shared legend template in the current project template.

2. If required, define a formula via the “Suppression” sub-tab for any given template item that determines the condition(s) under which the item will be suppressed in project output.

   1. Select the “Advanced Suppression” check box.

      The corresponding hyperlink is enabled.

      

   2. Click the link at right of the check box.

      The “Add/Edit Conditional Formula” dialogue displays.

      

      1. Provide a descriptive name for the suppression formula and add appropriate conditional elements.

      2. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

   • If no conditional formula is defined at all, and the “Advanced Suppression” check box is selected, it is as though the check box were not selected (i.e., advanced suppression is turned off).

   • If the defined conditional formula returns “True”, the line item will be suppressed; if the formula returns “False”, the line item will not be suppressed.

     • If the selected node is a chapter or section, all items within that chapter/section will also be suppressed if the specified condition(s) for the chapter/section return(s) “True”, regardless of whether any conditional formulas that may be defined for those items return “True” or “False”.
   • Suppression logic for “All Funds - Single” chapters and sections will be based on the first fund in the book.
   • For “All Funds - Repeat” chapters and sections, the suppression is done on a fund-by-fund basis; if the condition is met for one fund, it does not suppress the item for all the funds.
   • When referencing a fund data point, class data point or supplemental data point in the formula the footed value of that data point will be used.

   You can replicate the “Suppression” settings of a selected text snippet in one or more other project templates of the same structure by clicking the “Push component settings to other project templates” button at lower-right of the tree view.

3. Use the “Assignment” sub-tab to quickly find available text snippets, financial or portfolio statement templates and tabular data templates to assign to any given project template item.

   1. Click the appropriate sub-tab, and then assign the desired text snippet or financial/portfolio/tabular data template by dragging-and-dropping it on a project template item of the corresponding type.

      

      Any snippet/template previously assigned to a given item will be overwritten.

      You can replicate the “Assignment” settings of a selected text snippet in one or more other project templates of the same structure by clicking the “Push component settings to other project templates” button at lower-right of the tree view.

4. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

1. Provide a unique “Project Code” for projects that will be associated with the current project template. This code is typically provided by Donnelley Financial Solutions Implementations staff, and is used for identification purposes when processing project content for output.
2. As needed, provide an “FMS Component Number” for projects that will be associated with the current project template. This code is used for identification purposes when processing project content for EDGAR filing.

3. Specify one or more “Output Media” formats to be supported by the template.

   

   The “EDGAR (HTML)” output media check box is enabled only when the “PDF” check box is selected.

   1. Select “Rendition” to facilitate generating output based on active definitions assigned to style sheets via the Renditions library.
   2. For posting output to the Web, select “PDF”, “Excel” and/or “Word”.
   3. For generating a filing for submission to the SEC or ICI, select “N-MFP (XML)”.

   Although the selection of certain output types causes the “Monthly” and “Other” style sheet fields to become visible/editable, style sheet functionality is not currently in use for ArcFiling projects (i.e., specifying a style sheet will have no effect on project output).

4. Specify a style sheet for use in each reporting cycle by dragging-and-dropping it from the “Available Style Sheets” pane at right of the tab.

   • One style sheet box displays beneath a selected output type for each reporting cycle that is selected on the “Reporting” tab for the current template.
   • The “Available Style Sheets” pane lists all style sheets that are associated with the complex with which the current project template is associated.
   • The style sheet you specify for in the “Other” text box for each output type will be used on any project that has an account period that is not for predefined account period types for the template (i.e., not the “Annual”, “Semi-Annual”, “Quarterly”, “Monthly” or any “prelim” periods).

5. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

1. Click the “Push out changes” link on the “Administration” tab to apply settings in the template to the project instance(s) associated with it.

   The “Push Template Changes” dialogue displays.

   

   

   If any given project template instance is “Out of Sync” (i.e., it has not received the latest changes from the structure template), the image in the “Status” column appears disabled.

   1. Select the check box(es) next to the project(s) you want to synchronize with the project template (click the “Select all” link at lower-left to select all templates in the list at once).

   2. Click the “Push out changes” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

      The selected project(s) will now show a status of “In Sync”.

      

   3. Click the “Cancel” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

2. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

1. Provide one or more sets of production procedure instructions.

   

   1. Click the “Add” button at lower-left of the “Production Procedures” tab to add a procedure.

      The “Add Production Procedure” dialogue displays.

      1. Choose a “Document Type” of “Hand Typed Note” (default selection) to provide information that is not contained in a pre-existing document, and then type the content of the procedure in the “Note” text box.

         

      2. Set the “Document Type” to “External File” if the information to be provided is contained in a pre-existing document, and then browse for the file using the button at right of the “File” field.

         

      3. Provide a meaningful “Description” for the procedure.

      4. Choose the “Period Type” with which the procedure is associated.

         • Only those production procedures for the current reporting cycle of a project will be displayed on its “Production Procedures” tab. Since N-MFP projects only have a monthly reporting cycle, this option must be set to “Monthly”.For example, if the project is for an “Annual” period, then only “Annual” production procedures will be displayed.
         • New projects that get created (i.e., for future reporting cycles of this type) will automatically display this production procedure.
      5. Specify whether the procedure applies to the entire “Project” (default selection), or to a “Specific Chapter” therein. In the case of the latter, specify it using the “Chapter” drop-down list.

      6. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

         The “Add Production Procedure” dialogue closes and the procedure is added to the grid.

2. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

Once all content and libraries have been assigned to the project, the next step is to activate the project template. Prior to activating the project template, however, you should validate that it has been set up appropriately.

1. Once all project template settings have been specified, click the “Activate Template” link on the “Reporting” tab to create one or more instances of the project, based on the settings in both the project template and the document structure template.

   Once activated, the information contained in the “Reporting” tab will reflect the current status of the project template.

   

   

2. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.
