Managing Style Sheets

Intro

When ArcReporting projects are submitted for output processing, a set of instructions can be included with regard to the stylization and formatting of the various elements contained therein. You can create any number of such style sheet definitions via the “Style Sheets” page.

Your Donnelley Financial Solutions liaison can work with you to produce one or more supporting files (these contain the “instructions”) for each style sheet in the library. You can then apply any given style sheet with the projects you create via the “Output Management” tab of their associated project template.

Tasks

    1. Expand the ArcReporting “Output Libraries” .

      1. Click the “Home” button at the top of the application window to return to the landing page.

      2. Select “ArcReporting” from the .

      3. Click the “Administration” at lower-left of the screen.

      4. Click the “Output Libraries” menu to view available items.

    2. Click the “Style Sheets” item.

    3. Click the “Add” button at lower-right of the page.

    4. Provide all information pertaining to the new entity in the “Detail” at the right of the page.
      1. Specify the “Complex”, “Style Sheet Name” and a “Description” in the corresponding fields.
      2. Designate which “Rendering Engine” will be used to produce output for projects associated with the style sheet.
      3. Enter appropriate values for the “Style Specification” and “Style Specification Version”, as provided by your DFIN liaison.
      4. Choose the desired “Page Size” for project output.
      5. Click the “Job Ticket” tab and enter required job ticket information for the style sheet in the multi-line text box.

      6. Click the “Publishing Templates” to attach one or more templates for use in publishing.

        1. Click the “Add” at lower-left of the tab to define and add a template.

          1. Provide a “Template Name” and “Description” for the template.

            The “Template Name” value must be unique among templates defined for the current style sheet.

          2. Enter required “Assembly Ticket” information in the corresponding multi-line text box.

            1. For publishing templates with the “Has Table of Contents” check box option selected, the “Assembly Ticket” field must have a “divtype” property value of “pdftoc” specified in order for chapters to which the publishing template is assigned to render as tables of contents.
          3. Enter required “Division Ticket” information in the corresponding multi-line text box.

          4. Select the “Set as Default” check box if the publishing template is to be used as the default among multiple templates.

            Only one publishing template record for a given style sheet may be specified as the default. This template will be specified by default on the “Contents” tab of the “Project Templates” page for all chapters of project templates that use the current style sheet.

          5. Select the “Has Table of Contents” check box if the template includes a table of contents.

            1. Provide a “Table of Contents Name” in the corresponding text box.

          6. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

        2. Repeat for each template you wish to define.

      7. Click the “Supporting Files” to attach any files containing additional information that may be required for the publishing process.

        1. Click the “Add” at lower-left of the tab to add a file.

          1. Provide a “File Name” to identify the file to be attached.

            The “File Name” value must be unique among files attached to the current style sheet.

          2. Specify the “File Type” of the file to be attached (i.e., “[none]”, “Assembly Ticket”, “Div Ticket”, “Job Ticket” or “Style Guide”).

            • The “[none]” selection (default) or “Style Guide” selection may be made for any number of supporting files.
            • Any other selection may only be specified once among all supporting files for a given style sheet. As such, any given selection (except “[none]” and “Style Guide”) will not display in the drop-down list once it has been specified for a supporting file.
          3. Enter an appropriate “Description” for the file.
          4. Select your file using the “Browse” button at right of the “Source File” field.

          5. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

        2. Repeat for each file you wish to attach.

        You can view or save any given file by clicking the corresponding “View/Save file” button in the leftmost column of the grid.

    3. Select the desired item from the “Listing” pane at left of the page.

    4. Review and edit information for the item in the “Detail” pane at right of the page, or directly in the cells of the “Listing” pane at left of the page.

      1. Click the “Remove” button at lower-left of the “Detail” pane to remove a selected file in the “Supporting Files” section.

      2. Click the “Edit” button at lower-left of the “Detail” pane to update an existing file in the style sheet with new information.

        Files that have been associated with a style sheet are stored in binary format in the Arc Suite database. As such they cannot be edited directly. Instead, source files that have been updated outside Arc Suite are re-uploaded via the “Edit Style Sheet File” dialogue.

    5. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page if any updates were made.

    A listing of records, with certain associated information, can be exported from the application database to any of several different file formats (DOC, HTM, XML, etc.). Follow the steps below to perform a data export.

    1. Click the “Export data” at lower-right of the pane where existing items are listed to export data from the grid.

      1. Select the next to the file format to which you’d like the data saved.

        •  .XML

        •  .DOC

        •  .CSV

        •  .HTM

        •  .TXT

      2. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

        1. Specify a local or network directory in which to store the file, and provide a “File name”.
        2. Click the “Save” button.

  • Style sheets can only be deleted if they are not currently associated with any project template in the database. Please ensure that no such associations exist before proceeding with the steps outlined below:

    3. Select the desired item from the “Listing” pane at left of the page.

    4. Click the “Delete” button at lower-right of the page.

    5. Click the “Yes” button on the confirmation dialogue that displays.
