Managing Holdings Breakout Report Templates

Intro

Holdings breakout report templates define the category structure, numeric fields and associated column header captions to display when the Holdings Breakout Report is run for a given complex. You can create and maintain report template definitions via the “Holdings Breakout Report Templates” page.

Tasks

    1. Expand the ArcReporting “Disclosure Builder” .

      1. Click the “Home” button at the top of the application window to return to the landing page.

      2. Select “ArcReporting” from the .

      3. Click the “Administration” at lower-left of the screen.

      4. Click the “Disclosure Builder” menu to view available items.

    2. Click the “Holdings Breakout Report Templates” item.

    3. Click the “Add” button at lower-right of the page.

    4. Complete the questions found in the “Detail” at right of the newly-created template.
      1. Select the complex for which the template will be used.
      2. Provide the template with a name.
      3. Select up to three levels of category types to display using the corresponding drop-down list(s).

      4. Specify up to three numeric security value fields to display using the corresponding drop-down list(s).

        The footed value from the fund’s primary portfolio statement is used to populate each field in the breakout report.

      5. Specify the captions to display for each of the column headers in the report via the corresponding text boxes.

    5. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

    4. Review and edit information for the item in the “Detail” pane at right of the page.

    5. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page if any updates were made.

    3. Select the desired item from the “Listing” pane at left of the page.

    4. Click the “Delete” button at lower-right of the page.

      3. Click the “Reporting Workspace” at lower-left of the screen.

      4. Click the “Reports” menu to view available items.

        If the “Account Period”, “Complex” and “Fund” relevant to the data you wish to view are not currently selected, choose them using the either selection button at upper-left of the screen or the selection bar across the top of the window.

            If only one complex is available based on the specified date, the complex is automatically chosen.

          3. Click the “[Select Group]” text or “»” symbol.

            Alternatively, you can specify “All Fund Groups”, which automatically fills in “All Funds” in the step below. Some pages in Arc Suite (e.g., “Fund Holdings”), allow you to view information for more than one fund simultaneously. If a page does not support multiple fund display, then no information displays when “All Fund Groups » All Funds” is specified.

            If only one fund group is available based on the specified complex, the group is automatically chosen.

          4. Click the “[Select Fund]” text or “»” symbol.

            Alternatively, you can specify “All Funds”.

            If only one fund is available based on the specified group, the fund is automatically chosen.

          When all elements of the fund selection bar are specified, you have several options available in terms of viewing different sets of data for open pages.

          • Change the specified date. The list of dates is filtered for active projects for the specified fund. Changing the date refreshes the data for all open pages.
          • Change the complex. Changing the complex resets the group, and you’ll need to return to Step 3 above.
          • Change the group. Changing the group resets the fund, and you’ll need to return to Step 4 above.
          • Change the fund. Changing the fund refreshes the data for all open pages.
          • Reset the fund selection bar. Click the “Reset” button at any time to return to Step 1 above.

          1. Click the selection button at upper-left of the window.

            If an account period has already been specified via the fund selection bar (see above), the list under the fund selection button automatically expands that date.

          2. Click the arrow at left of the desired account period to display the available complex(es) and associated fund group(s) and fund(s).
          3. Specify the “Complex”, “Fund Group” and “Fund” relevant to the project you wish to view.

    3. Select the appropriate search criteria (i.e., complex, fund group, fund, etc.) using the controls in the top portion of the page.

    4. Click the “Generate output” button at lower-right of the page.

    • Column A in the export file (containing category names) displays the category “Caption” value specified in the category library assigned to a fund for a given category type.
    • Category fields are sorted by caption (ascending) for both the outermost and any child levels.
    • A total line is displayed only for the outermost category level, which contains total values for Columns B, C, and D.
    • Inner (“child”) categories display the total value per field in Columns B, C, and D.
    • A final total line that consists of the sum of all outermost level totals is the final line of the report. A final total value is provided for each value column that is specified in the report template.
    • The information for each fund exported is displayed on a separate Excel worksheet (tab) within the spreadsheet.
    • A fund must have a primary portfolio statement template assigned in order for the values to populate in columns B, C and D of the report output.

    • Any “Value” field specified in the holdings breakout report template must be added to the “Calculations” tab of the primary portfolio statement template in order for the values to populate in columns B, C and D of the output file.

      • The values shown in the report tie to the primary portfolio statement, i.e they may have been adjusted for rounding/footing.
