Managing Security Libraries

Intro

Security libraries hold information about holdings as it relates to a specific complex and account period (e.g., caption, description text, coupon rate, etc.). Each security in a library is identified with a record in the Security/Investment Master library, where other information about the holding, like the investment type, CUSIP, associated currency, etc. is stored.

You can add a security library and review/edit existing libraries on the “Security Libraries” page.

Tasks

    1. Expand the ArcFiling “Filing Libraries” .

      1. Click the “Home” button at the top of the application window to return to the landing page.

      2. Select “ArcFiling” from the .

    2. Expand the ArcReporting “Reporting Libraries” .

      1. Click the “Home” button at the top of the application window to return to the landing page.

      2. Select “ArcReporting” from the .

      3. Click the “Administration” at lower-left of the screen.

    4. Click the “Add” button at lower-right of the page.

    5. Click the “Complex” drop-down list to specify the complex with which the new security library will be associated.
    6. Enter a “Library Name”, “Description” and “Library Code” for the new security library, either in the cells of the new row at left of the page, or in the fields of the “Detail” pane at right.

    7. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

    4. Select the desired item from the “Listing” pane at left of the page.

    5. Review and edit information for the item in the “Detail” pane at right of the page, or directly in the cells of the “Listing” pane at left of the page.

    6. Click the “Security Captions” tab to review or update the captions and other information for each security associated with the security library.

      1. Use the “Account Period”, “Language” and “Investment Type” drop-down lists, and/or the “Identifier” and “Caption” fields to filter existing securities according to the selections made.

      2. Click the “Search” button at right of the “Search Criteria” section.

      3. To specify the information associated with any security record, select it and click the “Edit” button at lower-left of the “Detail” pane, or enter the information directly in the fields of the grid.

    7. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page if any updates were made.

    A listing of records, with certain associated information, can be exported from the application database to any of several different file formats (DOC, HTM, XML, etc.). Follow the steps below to perform a data export.

    1. Click the “Export data” at lower-right of the pane where existing items are listed to export data from the grid.

      1. Select the next to the file format to which you’d like the data saved.

        •  .XML

        •  .DOC

        •  .CSV

        •  .HTM

        •  .TXT

      2. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

        1. Specify a local or network directory in which to store the file, and provide a “File name”.
        2. Click the “Save” button.

    4. Select the desired item from the “Listing” pane at left of the page.

    5. Click the “Account Period” drop-down list at upper-left of the “Security Captions” tab to specify the period with which the new security is associated.

    6. Click the “Add” at lower-left of the “Detail” pane to add the security.

      1. Specify the with which the caption will be associated.
        1. If you know the complete “Identifier” value (i.e., “Master Identifier”) and/or “Security Name”, or some portion thereof, enter that text into corresponding fields of the “Search Criteria” section in order to narrow your search results. You can also filter results by “Investment Type”.

        2. Click the “Search” button at right of the “Search Criteria” section.

        3. Select the desired security in the grid by clicking it once with the left mouse button.

          If the security you’re looking for does not seem to exist, click the “Add New Security” link at lower-right of the dialogue to open the “Security/Investment Master” page. After adding the new security, return to the “Security Libraries” page and repeat these steps in order to select the new security.

      2. Click the “Accept” at lower-right of the dialogue to specify the selected security’s caption and other properties.

        1. Edit the “Caption” for the new security in the corresponding field of the dialogue, and specify all other pertinent information pertaining to the security using the remaining fields.

          By default, the “Caption” will be populated with the “Security Name” value from the selected security master record.

        2. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

    7. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

    6. Use the “Identifier”, “Caption”, “Investment Type” and/or other fields, if desired, to filter the security records from which to choose.

    7. Click the “Search” button at right of the “Search Criteria” section.

    8. To edit any field for a selected security, click the “Edit” at lower-left of the “Detail” pane.

      2. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

    9. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page if any updates were made.

    5. Specify an “Investment Type” for the new security master record via the drop-down list in the “Detail” pane at right.
    6. Enter a “>Security Name” and provide one or more “Identifiers” (e.g., “Master Identifier”, “CUSIP”, “SEDOL”, etc.) for the new security master record in the fields of the “Detail” pane at right.

    7. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.
