Managing Fund Relationships

Intro

On the “Fund Relationships” page, you can define master-feeder relationships between funds in a given complex and for a specific account period, and then specify what percentage of the master fund each feeder fund represents.

Certain functionality in this application area requires you to have one or more . For more information about any given right (i.e., what functionality it governs, etc.), please see the “Available User Rights” topic.

Tasks

    1. Expand the Environment Administration “Settings” .

      1. Click the “Home” button at the top of the application window to return to the landing page.

      2. Select “Environment Administration” from the .

      3. Click the “Settings” menu to view available items.

    3. Specify the complex for which the fund relationship will be established via the “Complex” drop-down list.

    4. Specify the account period to which the fund relationship applies via the “Account Period” drop-down list.

    5. Drag the fund that represents the “parent” in the fund relationship from those listed to the canvas on the right side of the page to .

      1. Provide a name and description for the new fund relationship.
      2. Specify whether the fund relationship is for use in the ArcFiling product (“Reporting” option), or in the ArcFiling product (“ArcFiling” option).

      3. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

        Relationships designated as for use in the ArcFiling product will display the text “N-MFP” at right of the group box. Those for use with the ArcReporting product (default selection) display no text at all at right of the group box.

    6. To add one or more additional funds to the fund relationship, click the “Add/Edit relationship” on the newly-created relationship group box.

      1. Indicate whether or not the percentage allocation settings specified for the fund relationship will be to succeeding account periods.
        1. Select “Yes” to cause any values specified for a given fund in the “Percentage Allocation” column of the grid to be rolled forward to the next account period.
        2. Select “No” (default selection) to stipulate that values specified for any given fund in the “Percentage Allocation” column of the grid not be rolled forward to the next account period; instead, each fund’s percentage allocation value will be set to “100.000000” for the next period.
      2. Select the check box(es) in the grid corresponding to the fund(s) that you want to add to the fund relationship.

      3. Enter the appropriate percentage of the relationship that each selected fund represents via the “Percentage Allocation” column of the grid.

        • The default value for all funds is “100.000000”.

        • Only numeric values between and including “0.000000” and “100.000000” may be entered.

      4. Click the link in the “Exchange Rate” column of the grid for each fund to specify the appropriate exchange rate source, time and time zone.

        The default value for all funds is “(none)”, in which case the conversion is seen as a 1-to-1 (i.e., the same currency).

      5. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

    7. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

    8. To create additional fund relationships for the specified complex and account period, drag their respective parent funds onto any empty area of the canvas at right of the page and repeat the steps above.

    Percentage allocation information for ArcReporting fund relationships can be loaded utilizing the secure FTP site process. See the “Transferring Load Files via Secure FTP” topic for details on using this method.

    Be sure to select and upload the source data to the FundRelationPercentAllocations for the type of source file you’re using in the FTP directory for your respective environment.

    You can go to the dataload “Archive” page at any time to see the result of the import process by clicking the corresponding “View Details” link.

    3. Select the complex with which the fund relationship is associated via the “Complex” drop-down list.

    4. Specify the account period to which the fund relationship applies via the “Account Period” drop-down list.

    5. To modify a fund relationship’s properties, click the “Add/Edit relationship” on the box representing “parent” fund of the relationship.

      1. Make updates to the fund relationship’s name, description or type, as needed, via the corresponding fields on the dialogue.
      2. Select the check box(es) in the grid corresponding to the fund(s) that you want to add to the fund relationship.
      3. Adjust the percentage of the relationship that each selected fund represents via the “Percentage Allocation” column of the grid, as needed.
      4. Click the link in the “Exchange Rate” column of the grid for any fund whose exchange rate source, time and time zone you wish to update.

      5. Clear the check box(es) in the grid corresponding to the fund(s) that you want to remove from the fund relationship, if any.

        This action can also be accomplished by clicking the “Delete relationship” link on the box representing a “child” fund in the canvas at right of the page.

      6. Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

    6. To remove a specific “child” fund from a fund relationship, click the “Delete relationship” link on the box representing that “child” fund, and then click “Yes” on the “Please Confirm” dialogue that displays.

      1. Click the “Undo” button at lower-right of the page to revert the action.
      2. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page to commit to the fund’s removal from the relationship.

    7. To remove a fund relationship entirely, click the “Delete relationship” link on the box representing “parent” fund of the relationship, and then click “Yes” on the “Please Confirm” dialogue that displays.

      1. Click the “Undo” button at lower-right of the page to revert the action.
      2. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page to commit to the relationship’s removal from the database.

    8. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page if any updates were made.
