Managing Issuer Libraries

Intro

Issuer libraries hold information about issuers as it relates to a specific account period (i.e., caption and description text). Each issuer in a library is identified with a record in the Issuer Master library, where other information about the issuer, like the issuer name and CIK is stored.

You can add an issuer library and review/edit existing libraries on the “Issuer Libraries” page.

Tasks

Adding an issuer library to the database
1. Expand the ArcFiling “Filing Libraries” menu.
  
  Click the “Home” button at the top of the application window to return to the landing page.
  
  Select “ArcFiling” from the components list.

2. Expand the ArcReporting “Reporting Libraries” menu.
  
  Click the “Home” button at the top of the application window to return to the landing page.
  
  Select “ArcReporting” from the components list.

3. Click the “Issuer Libraries” item.

4. Click the “Add” button at lower-right of the page.
  
  A new, blank row displays in the “Listing” pane at left of the page.
5. Click the “Complex” drop-down list to specify the complex with which the new issuer library will be associated.
6. Enter a “Library Code” and “Description” for the new issuer library, either in the cells of the new row at left of the page, or in the fields of the “Detail” pane at right.
7. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.

Reviewing/Editing an existing issuer library
1. Expand the ArcFiling “Filing Libraries” menu.

4. Select the desired item from the “Listing” pane at left of the page.
5. Review and edit information for the item in the “Detail” pane at right of the page, or directly in the cells of the “Listing” pane at left of the page.
6. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page if any updates were made.
Exporting issuer library records

A listing of records, with certain associated information, can be exported from the application database to any of several different file formats (DOC, HTM, XML, etc.). Follow the steps below to perform a data export.

Click the “Export data” button at lower-right of the pane where existing items are listed to export data from the grid.

The “Export Format” dialogue displays.

Select the option button next to the file format to which you’d like the data saved.

.XML

Places data in XML format, which can be opened in a web browser or in Microsoft Excel.

.DOC

Places data in a table within a Word document.

.CSV

Places data in a comma-delimited format, which is typically opened in Microsoft Excel.

.HTM

Places data in an HTML table within a web page, which can be opened in a web browser or in Microsoft Word or Excel.

.TXT

Places data in a tab-delimited text file, which can be opened in a text editor (e.g., Notepad) or in Microsoft Excel.

Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.

The “Save As” dialogue displays.

Specify a local or network directory in which to store the file, and provide a “File name”.

Click the “Save” button.
Adding an issuer caption to an issuer library
1. Expand the ArcFiling “Filing Libraries” menu.
  
  Click the “Home” button at the top of the application window to return to the landing page.

2. Expand the ArcReporting “Reporting Libraries” menu.

3. Click the “Issuer Libraries” item.

4. Select the desired item from the “Listing” pane at left of the page.
5. Click the “Account Period” drop-down list in the “Detail” pane to specify the period with which the new caption will be associated.
6. Click the “Add” button at lower-left of the “Detail” pane and provide the appropriate caption details.

  Select the issuer master with which the caption will be associated.
  
  If you know the complete “Issuer Name”, “Issuer Caption” and/or “CIK”, or some portion thereof, enter that text into corresponding fields of the “Search Criteria” section in order to narrow your search results.
  
  Click the “Search” button at right of the “Search Criteria” section.
  
  Issuers matching your criteria display in the “Listing” grid.
  
  Select the desired issuer in the grid by clicking it once with the left mouse button.
  
  If the issuer you’re looking for does not seem to exist, click the “Add New Issuer” link at lower-right of the dialogue to open the “Issuer Master” page. After adding the new issuer, return to the “Issuer Libraries” page and repeat these steps in order to select the new issuer.
  
  Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.
  
  By default, the “Caption” will be populated with the “Issuer Name” value from the selected issuer master record.
7. Edit the “Caption” and/or “Description”, as needed, for the new caption in the fields of the grid in the “Detail” pane of the “Issuer Libraries” page.
8. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page.
Reviewing/Editing an existing issuer caption in an issuer library

3. Click the “Issuer Libraries” item.

4. Select the desired item from the “Listing” pane at left of the page.
5. Click the “Account Period” drop-down list in the “Detail” pane to specify the period with which the caption is associated.
6. The “Caption” and “Description” values for any selected caption can be edited directly in the cells of the grid.
7. To edit any field, including the associated “Issuer Master”, click the “Edit” button at lower-left of the “Detail” pane.
  
  The “Edit Issuer Caption” dialogue displays.
  
  Review and edit information for the caption in the dialogue.
  
  Click the “Accept” button at lower-right of the dialogue.
8. Click the “Save” button at lower-right of the page if any updates were made.
