Summary: Audit Reports/Data Extracts

In addition to the reports listed below, in most cases if there is a grid in the application user interface, the contents thereof can be exported to “Excel”, “Word”, “CSV”, “TXT” or “HTM” formats. Examples include the “Fund Holdings” page and all maintenance library pages.

Archive

You can view the details of data that has been imported to Arc Suite on some previous date via the “Archive” page. Such data will have been imported either via secure FTP as part of an automated dataload operation or through a manual data import from various application pages. The type of load, date/time and details of files are all available in the archive record.

Attribute Usage Report

You can produce a listing of the fund(s), fund group(s) or complex(es) with which attributes in the system are assigned by running the Attribute Usage Report.

Batch N-SAR Output

You can generate Excel output for multiple N-SAR calculation sheets at once for a specified account period via the “Batch N-SAR Output” page. The output file can subsequently be imported into the FundSuite ComFiler application.

Calculation Sheet Account Mapping Audit Report

This report allows you to export the calculations sheet(s) in a given financial workbook to Excel format and see the direct link whereby each line item is mapped, up to 5 levels.

Calculation Sheet Audit Report

You can generate a listing of all changes made to calculation sheets associated with a given complex or a specific workbook template by running the Calculation Sheet Audit Report.

Calculation Sheet Circular Reference Audit Report

This report returns the details and location of any circular reference that may exist in the calculation sheet(s) of a given financial workbook. Ideally, this report will not return any results.

Calculation Sheet Structure Report

This report is a listing in Excel format of all elements that exist in all calculation sheets associated with a given financial workbook. This report differs from the Calculation Sheet Account Mapping Audit Report in that the report does not contain fund values; it is used to check the setup of the calculation sheets.

Class Balances Audit Report

You can generate a listing of all changes made to values in the “Class Balances” tab of the “Financial Workbook” page by running the Class Balances Audit Report. The report displays the beginning and ending balance of each field, the date/time of the change and user that made the change. This information can be useful in determining the impact of a change by identifying output that may need to be regenerated after a change is made.

Event Log

The system “Event Log” page allows you to search the system to determine what events, such as user log-ins, user log-outs, project component edits, etc., have occurred within your environment during a specific time frame.

Search results indicate the event code, the date the event occurred, the product in which the event occurred, the name of the user who triggered the event, and any relevant event details.

You can generate a listing of all changes made to financial statement footnote assignments associated with a given fund group and financial workbook template by running the Financial Statement Footnote Assignment Audit Report.

Financial Statement Mapping Audit Report

This report allows you to export financial statements to Excel format, and displays the direct link whereby each line item is mapped. The report looks through the calculation sheet(s) and trial balance and displays the underlying values that created an ending balance on a given statement.

This report displays the underlying details of calculation sheet line items that consolidate values in a parent/child relationship.

Financial Workbook Extract

This feature allows you to extract the trial balances, class balances, fund data points, supplemental data, calculation sheets and general ledger transactions of a given financial workbook to a file of Excel format. This is the main report users of Arc Suite send to auditors for financial statement backup.

Footnote Libraries Audit Report

You can generate a listing of all additions and changes associated with financial or portfolio footnote text meeting specified criteria (e.g., complex, account period, footnote name, etc.) by running the Footnote Libraries Audit Report. The report displays the date/time of edits, the name of the editing user, and the before and after text. This information can be useful in determining the impact of a change by identifying output that may need to be regenerated after a change is made.

Fund Data Points Audit Report

General Ledger Transactions

The “General Ledger Transactions” page displays transactions made against general ledger accounts, as determined by user-specified search criteria. Transactional information such as the before and after account balance, editing user, memo, date/time, etc. is shown in the report. Transactions are sorted by date/time by default, but you can group, sort or filter search results by any field in the results grid.

You can also reverse selected account adjustments using the “Reverse Batch” functionality also available on this page.

Global Holdings Review

The “Global Holdings Review” page allows you to easily view the funds that hold a security record within the current or other complexes in your Arc Suite environment.

Holdings Breakout Report

You can generate a report of holdings associated with a specified complex, fund group, fund and/or account period by running the Holdings Breakout Report. Information in the report can be grouped by up to three category type levels, and display up to three numeric field values for each security/category. The customized report(s) generated can be used for internal checks and for auditors.

Holdings Data Extract

You can export holdings-related information from Arc Suite for one or more complexes and a for a specified account period to Excel format via the “Holdings Data Extract” page. The resulting file(s) will be in a format that can be used for import to either Arc Suite or the FundSuite SX application, depending on the options you specify.

Missing Output Settings Report

You can generate a listing of all portfolio statement template line items in a given project that have no defined output settings by running the Missing Output Settings Report. Missing output settings could lead to output and footing issues.

The “New Securities Report” page allows you to search the system to identify new securities in a given security library for a specified account period (i.e., securities that have never been held by the library used by the specified fund(s) for an account period prior to the one being viewed).

Project Excel Export

You can export data from Arc Suite for one or more project items to Excel format via the “Project Excel Export” page. The resulting file will contain one worksheet tab for each item that was selected for export.

You can also export any project table by right-clicking it in the Project Content pane of the “Project” page and choosing Export To Excel from the context menu that displays.

This report performs checksums of all totals within portfolio and financial statement tables in a given project and displays any totals that do not match the sum of their components.

This report lists the underlying data used during custom preprocessing against the last loaded values (numeric, text and categorization).

This report only works with custom preprocessors that have been configured to use the report. It must then be deployed to the database.

The “Same Security Prior Period Report” page allows you to compare security library and category library information (caption, descriptions, categories, footnotes, etc.) from two different account periods. Any differences in the library information between the two selected time periods are displayed in this exceptions report.

Securities Audit Report

The “Securities Audit Report” page allows you to search the system to identify changes that have occurred with regard to holdings data within a specific time frame.

Search results indicate when securities were added to the database and if security’s balance or categorization was added or updated. You can see the dates and times of any such edits, the name of the editing user for each, before and after values (as applicable) and the names of the libraries and funds with which the securities and security balances are associated.

The “Securities Audit Report” page allows you to search the system to identify changes that have occurred with regard to holdings data within a specific time frame.
